Fitting Brass? Galvanized. What do you use

I’m mounting three tanks on my truck and they have 8 ports each. I plan on plugging most of the ports. Any way. What kind of fittings do you all use. Do you stick to brass or go to the much cheaper options like galvanized or even PVC/plastic.

There are a lot of ways to go, plumbing isles and nematic departments are full of all different materials

Let me know

I used all brass in my setup

lllllllllllll

Brass is best , but ive used black pipe fittings and galvanized… Brass is pricey tho!

we only use brass! it may cost more but it’s worth it.

Personnally, I only use brass. Galvanized fittings can cause problems if the galavanizing starts flaking off and, as mentioned, it definitely rusts leading to additional problems.

Brass isn’t that much more, considering it’s added benefits. Also, spending a little extra on fittings helps limit the weak link in the system and protects your pricey toy (the horns).

dunno about the quality of galvanized fittings over there.

over here, brass offers much better machined threads so they need less sealant/tape to keep airtight. so yeah, brass for me.

Brass and pipe dope!!!

Brass fittings, Teflon tape, and pipe dope. Guaranteed no leaks.

Loctite 545 all the way!

Ive tried pipe dope / teflon tape / and it leaked with all in the cold months… loctite 545 dries solid and keeps it tight.

I’ve got a couple leaks I need to fix next summer because I’m running galvanized elbows. They were out of brass so I had to go with the next best thing, and even with pipe dope and tape they still leak.

It’s okay though … just another reason to upgrade some stuff
