Gonna be working on my horns...

As some of you know, I have the Shockers 228vx setup on my HHR. And I got to thinking that maybe I should turn two of my horns towards the front of the vehicle, instead of just pointing all 4 of them towards the back. I still have some leftover hose of I need it. Also, I still need to order another pressure switch to replace the broken one I have on there now.

Are there plastic covers out there now that can stick over the front of the bells? The main reason I have the bells pointed towards the rear is because I don’t want too much debris ending up inside them.

Where can I get a longer leader hose? I want to install the new pressure switch higher on the tank to keep water from getting to it as easily, but the way my compressor is mounted may make switching the leader hose to the lower port problematic.

Never heard of any debris covers for Shockers…

Not sure what to say about the debris covers, maybe make some from tin or window screen??? Amazon seeks viair leader hoses also, I just ordered one from them and I believe it was only like $15

F**k a duck!! Check out some of the crazy prices on the UK Amazon site!

This pressure switch is $16.95 from Hornblasters, about £10/£12 in UK money, they sell them here for almost three times as much!

They nailed it on where to purchase the leader hoses.

Keep in mind that switching leader hoses on that particular system will void any manufacturer warranties.

There are no shocker horn covers to my knowledge. We have had customers use the end of woman’s tights as covers for debris.

Get their leader hose to maintain the warranty and use DOT air brake tubing with instant tube fittings for the rest.

Angie,
Consider this another inquiry about covers for shockers. I want to put mine on the frame rail mounted forward and slightly downward for drainage … but am concerned about mud and debris getting in them.

I’m shocked (see what I did, there? :)) that there are no debris covers for these … and I just don’t see women’s tights holding up through the weather year after year.

If HB made covers, I’d have bought them…

The horns are omni-directional. So they do not require to really face any direction in order to get the optimal sound. The reason we do not make covers for the horns is that anything within 3-6" in front of the bells will muffle the sound. In most cases people find a way to mount the horns so that they are not susceptible to the moisture or debris.
