Iowa 80 Truckstop had these horns for sale for $119, picked up a set and went out and bought a used air tank that came off of a semi from a semi junkyard. Later found out that tank was going to be too big for the little compressor I was going to run. Compressor I got from a friend. Ended up getting the small tank that goes with the compressor as well.
Plans are to get a bigger compressor later on and putting my bigger tank in and run it up to 150 psi. The tank and compressor is screwed down to a piece of plywood in my toolbox because I didn’t want to drill holes in my box to only drill more later on for my bigger tank. I used a 5in. exhaust clamp and welded a plate to it for my compressor. Horns are bolted to the side of the box, original plans were to mount them underneath the box on the passenger front side. They wouldn’t fit so that wasn’t an option.
Compressor is wired in to a relay with a switch and is powered up by ‘key-on’. Thanks to the guys who helped me figure out the wiring on here! Toggle switch is mounted on the lower dash by the pedals. Horn button is hidden away in the dash pocket in the middle.
Last year I put a set of these same horns on our semi at home and they are very nice and work great. I think later down the road I may get a set of HB Shocker horns. Like mentioned, I can’t wait to get money for a bigger compressor so I can run my bigger tank, so I can have more psi running to these horns and be able to blast them longer.
