check your state laws, in nyc, if you only have a permit for your residence, then you can only carry at that location.
If you’re still in the state that you have your CCW/CHL issued, and there are no felons at the residence, you should be fine.
If you’re out of the state your permit was issued, you need to make sure there is reciprocity between the states so you can carry.
Another option would be a non-resident concealed carry permit, then the only thing you’d need to worry about would be what the background is for those you’re staying with.

…and your sister needs to be ok with it. (assuming you tell her)
Are we talking CCW or just having it at her house?
just having it at her house…

I can’t see why it would be any different than being out in a car, or anywhere in public…as it is not your residence.
The question becomes - what is considered concealed.
Under the couch cushion next to you?
In the other room in a backpack?
For sure if it’s in a locked case it is not considered concealed.
yeah i asked a cop. i cant. have to keep gun at my residence until i get my ccw permit
