Having second thoughts...

I ordered the Shocker Classic kit on friday but after spending some more time on here looking around Im wondering if I should have spent some more and put my own kit together.

I was thinking of a 8.5g tank with a 440c comp. and the XL horns instead of the HB4H horns that come with that kit.

What are some opinions on this? Is the kit I bought actually loud and worth the price or should I return them and upgrade? Maybe even the 540 kit?

There isnt anyone here in my area who has horns like this so I cant hear them before buying :frowning:

I had a 540 kit and 6 months later upgradedto 2 450c comps and a k3 lol there is no substitute for a nathan airchime but the kit u got is a good one. def scare sum folks lol

Yea I know Ill be upgrading at some point. Think when I do this kit will end up going on the wifes car.

I like having that train sound and from what it sounds like the HB4H hornsjust sound like loud oven air horns. The XL’s come closer am I correct?

I know nothing will compair to a K3 which BTW, I love the sound of haha

well the XL’s are still rather deep sounding, your kit will be loud, you will just wanna upgrade like i did lol

heres what the xl’s sounded like on my truck, they were sure loud tho lol

Yea I like the deep sounds of the XL’s. Guessing the HB4H’s dont sound like the XL’s. I left a message with HB about exchanging the kit and I havent even recieved em yet lol.

Hope they can make that happen!

I thought they were the same 4 horns, but the airline & valve were different.
Is that wrong?

They are the same horns lol

Well damn. So they just sound different because of how much air they are getting?

Screw it. I’ll keep em and see what they sound like I guess.

Just upgrade the valve and air line and bam there’s ur better kit…lol…

^^Bingo

Well according to Maddie at HB, the 540 kit and the classic kit will sound the same because they use the same horn. Only difference is honk time and refill time. So Im going to install this kit and hope the videos on youtube dont do it justice

The videos never do them justice lol

Oh yeah the videos never do them justice. I waited 4 years to get mine installed. Pressing that button the first time nearly made me jizz all over myself.

i started out a long time ago with the cheap train horns. About a month ago I bought a 540 kit then immediately called back and went with 2 of everything. 2 480s 2 5g tanks etc. get ya a good horn to blow until you find a nathan k3 for sale some where. They are out there, just gotta be searching! The best advise is to get quality stuff b/c your just wasting money if you dont…

The videos just make em sound like regular air horns so Ill just wait and see. The kit arrived today. Hope to get it all installed tomorrow after work.

I want a K3 very bad and will have em some day. When I do the shockers will just go on the wifes ride haha

I think Ill just piece the K3 kit together as I go. Since this is my first time with horns, a full kit like this is my best way to go to get the hang of how everything works together and all that jazz.

I do want onboard air on my next set up because I drive on the beach alot and have to air down and back up when leaving the sand, so Im thinking a 12g tank for the k3 plus whatever compressor will work best. Time to start researching and saving.

^^ Ewwwwwww YUKKKKKKKKKK!!!

Do you use automatic tire deflators before driving on the beach? Consider using our XD3000 air compressor (available through Hornblasters) for your horns and airing up you tires. No other 12V air compressor will fill a tank and tires faster, especially if you’re in a hurry to get some place when leaving the beach.

your not alone LOL

Geez dude … TMI !!!

Sorry man but no way will I be spending $1300+ on a compressor alone. Not in that big a hurry to inflate my tires or honk at anyone haha
