Hey guys,
I just bought the Shocker240 for my 08 GMC Sierra. I’ve lowered it 3/5 with 22’s. In saying that I’m a little worried about fitting the compressor and tank under the truck. I fitted it up to the side of the frame to get a look but now I’m worried about if I get I get T-Boned it will total my system. I also don’t really want to put it in my bed because I don’t want to cut holes in the bed at this time. I know, I know Just do it and quit being a puss but, is there anyone on here that has a 07+ GMC sierra or Silverado that could let me in on where they put thier kit at?
I would be more worried about your truck in a collision than this equipment. Talk to your insurance company about coverage for aftermarket accessories. Not every company offers it, but many do. Under the truck is the standard place to put this equipment.
Also as a side note: if worse came to worse (very unlikely and I hope not) you are even less likely to need to replace everything. You’d probably only have to fix a few things.
i was just giving him another option besides his frame…the frame is a logical place…but with everything inside that black plastic 07+chevys have, everything stays pretty dry and it doesnt take up any room…and with some shockers in the grille it should sound really good
Not sure on your particular truck, but I have my current horn and solenoid on the inside of the frame. That’s just where it fit, but in your case that may give you a little more piece of mind.
Thanks for the help guys. I went over to GMFullsize forums and talked with some dudes over there. I am going to put the horns in the grill and everythings else on the passenger frame rail close to the cab.
It’s carternick79. I think I’ve talked with you before over there. I actually found a fab guy here in town that fabbed up a mount for the air tank and compressor under the passenger door.
