Hi, my name is Jose and I am just getting and enjoying the Hobby of horn collecting as some people call it but mostly enjoy Hornblasting:D
I have a bagged Ford Lightning and decided that the next mod was a air horn, and since I had a air tank and compressors I pieced my system from scratch instead of buying a kit, I started with a dual grover air horn that I got from ebay, it was loud but once the neighbours started to get used to it I decided it was not loud enough so I yanked it off and install a set of dual hadleys and these SOB’s are freaking loud but it’s never loud enough so I am finishing the install of another hadley horn but I got the felling I will be upgrading in the near future, I am already eyeing a set of nathan airchime on ebay but the bidding is getting pretty crazy:p
so anyway glad to be in here and I look forward to lear more about the hobby
here is a pic of my Lightning, I got a vid of the dual hadley horns but I have not uploaded it yet
Welcome to the forum and nice ride. And sounds like you got bit by the bug as well. If you want louder I highly recommemd going with a Airchime a K3LA would tuck away real nice on your lightning and people wont get used to how loud they are, like your neighbors did with your grover horns. As for horns on ebay you dont always know what you are getting when you get a good deal on horns. If you want a good deal on a set of K3LA’s PM me and I’ll see what I can come up with.
Thanks man, I was bidding on a Leslie but then I saw a picture next to a guy and those things are huge I had to let it go, from the pics I have seen looks like the Airchime is small enough that I might be able to fit it where the spare tire goes under the bed, I am going to see how much my 4 Hadley’s annoys the neighbors then upgrade to the Nathan’s
wow nice truck! yeah leslies are pretty big, i’m gonna be trying to sell mine once i get them all rebuilt so i can try to find myself a nice set of nathans.
I have an AirPod from air ride technologies which basically is a 10 gal aluminum tank and 2 thomas compressors packed together in a small package, the tank holds 150 psi
Thanks guys, that air pod also has all the wiring, relays, valves and computer for the suspension, it makes a air bag suspension install a whole lot easier, I just had to connect 2 wires , power and ground.
