Trying to install my horns on my 07 Hummer. I mounted them under the hood but the hood won’t close now. Will I hurt the sound if I cut the bells any shorter? If I cut off about 3 to 4 inches I will have enough clearance. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi, Omega triples and I saw an installation like them on one of the install pages. They aren’t set in stone yet where I really want them just thought I’d like to set them so the opening faces forward. I also have the ac-150 compressor and tank that I was going to mount inside in the rear. I was just wondering if the tone or frequency changes if they are cut back. thanks
What would you do - cut a section out & weld it back together?

After taking a (tapered) section out, you’ll be left with 2 different diameters that don’t match up…
No, I was thinking of just cutting the bells back a few inches… the flare of the bell is preventing the hood from closing.
If you’re only talking about lopping the top 1/3 off of the very end, it shouldn’t change much That’s if you can live with how it looks…
I just didnt want the sound to change by cutting them back… It will be under the hood so no one will see them anyway… appreciate your input…
I wouldnt cut them back… Mount them under inside the frame somewhere… I bet theres a ton of room under there for them to be tucked up inside …
i say cut them in half and buy some shockers from hornblasters lol
