Thats garbage brah. Pretty much all your going to hear on here is save up for the shockers. They are freaking loud!!!

Yeah, the cheapest kit is $400, but as the saying goes, “you get what you pay for”.

I have the shockers running 200psi. Here’s my setup;

Welcome to the forum dude.

yu wont be happy… save as he said… you’ll be happy you did

Yeah, theyre right. Those CAN be loud but you have to dump money into changing the valves out and the lines. Not worth it. What you will see in this arena is that there are LOUD AIR HORNS that are train horn simulators and then there’s a REAL TRAIN HORN. Hornblasters are LOUD as crap, the Note is a little deep for my liking though. I do like the fact the you can run them at 200psi.

been there done that…dont buy those

well alright

i agree

well there are a lot of kits out there but i want to know what is the best but cheapest i can get

shockers for sure
even if its the cheapest shocker kit on here
i was skeptical of it at first
youtube vids dont do it justice…i have to have all my windows closed in my truck if i dont want to hurt my ears and i mean it really hurts

go for a 240XL … works fine  and is relatively cheap

On a real, that setup you asked about is a waste of time and money, IOW, GARBAGE.
I bought a system like that then HAD to upgrade to 1 set of shockers, then 2 sets, now im at Nathan K3. So save and you will see what we all are talking about.

I hate to bash “competition”, so I’ll try to keep to the details as much as possible here.

Here’s a comparison photo I took of the Shocker S4 vs. the Hammer 3 (the same size, or bigger than the horn in the link you gave).

High-Res

Horns are lower pitch the longer the trumpets, and the wider the throat and flare; conversely, they are higher pitch the shorter the trumpets and the narrower the throat and flare.

Those horns might get somewhat loud, but they are going to sound more like the handheld air horns used at sports games. I can personally swear that those horns will not sound anything like a train horn and should not be advertised as such.

On top of that, the no name compressor in the kit is doubtful to last too long. We’ve had some here before and had more than disappointing results. Also there is no mention of warranty.

I’d highly recommend you considered the Shocker 232 kit (http://www.hornblasters.com/products/details.php?i=shocker-232-train-horn-kit) It’s great value for money and one of our cheaper kits.

Unfortunately we are out of stock of our Outlaw series (budget horns), or I’d recommend those as a cheaper alternative. The Shocker horns are our premium brand though and definitely worth the extra money!

We provide a 1 year warranty on the air setups and a lifetime warranty on the S4 horns themselves. You won’t beat this anywhere!

I agree. Shockers are the best bang for the buck. The thing is, I know how you feel because when you think of getting a train horn, all you know is you WANT one. Its just so much that goes into a horn system. its unlike any other modifiacation that you will make to your car. So when you look at all the parts, you default to the cheap route because you dont know the difference. Save up for the shockers. It comes with everything you need, you wont be like me, chasing down fittings and pieces to make it all come together.

Also, This is from the Hornblasters website. “HornBlasters Train Horns … The Nathan horns listed here are actual railway horns used on trains in the US. These premium horns are the loudest, most authetnic horns we carry.”

Im convinced.

About 3/4yrs ago I bought my first Horns and tank from the states… I must say, I was chuffed to bits with them, however…I then upgraded to Shockers woooooooowwwww…no comparison…since then I sold my shockered hornblasting MR2 and now I’m on my first spanking set of K3’s from Hornblasters… simply awesome… my mate txt me today saying “Stinky? How long will it be before you get your first ship horn?” lol lol

i think the guy understands that he should buy the shockers lol

Yes. Shockers for sure. He can go the cheaper route, but you’ll just want bigger and badder after a little while.

And theirs always that possibility of getting honked back at by shockers/real train horn, and if you have a little Chinese three chime the shockers would blow them out of the water. Its just embarrassing  lol

yep… get some shockers but if you have the cash, get some nathan horns here: http://www.hornblasters.com/products/details.php?i=nathan-airchime-k3-k3la-train-horn

I cant wait to pop the cherry on my K3’s

lol. right?

x2

ok ok im gettin the shockers when i have 400
