hello there all of trainhornforums or THF, i am new to the forms but not the the horns…wow that rhymes. anyways iv been wanting to get a set for my Tahoe. only problem is i am still under my parents roof and must obey.(BTW im 17 and a senior in high school) trying to convince my dad was a breeze. but as for my mom, being who she is, is next to impossible. what she has proposed to do is ask the insurance company if they will still insure the vehicle if there is a train horn installed. my mom and dad have seen the vids of people scaring other people with these horns, and she thinks thats what i want to use of for… um well sort of ;D. but, im not some tard whos going to just be driving down the road abusing his mother F-ing loud a$$ horns scaring anybody within the audible range. i am fully aware of the fact that doing so is 100% illegal according to sound pollution laws. but who says you cant have a little fun every once in a while ;). i know i need to be aware of whos around me when im blowing it for fun. but using it for legitimate reasons, which i have had times that i could use a train horn to deal with a stupid driver, would happen frequently. all im worried about is what will the insurance company say. i know im a 17 year driver and all that garbage, but compared to my other friends, holy sh** they are crazy mofo drivers. let me know what you think…
Well I have never really thought about that…but if I was an insurance company, I would think a loud horn is better for insurance purposes
hmmm welcome to the forums.
All you have to do is carefully read your policy. (PITA I know)
You got me kind of curious now.
i like your thinking haha
I say keep convincing!
Horns on your truck is no different than putting aftermarket poop on it…they will still cover you…now if you can’t convince them then just wait till you turn 18 and just buy them and put them on your truck…
They may even be covered under your insurance since they are bolted down on your truck. and if its not bolted down, your homeowners should cover it. but usually homeowners is a higher deductible so check to make sure
^ they better be! $1350 is alot of money I actually thought about checking on that when I realized how much I had invested.
I’m an 18 year old senior and i haven’t had any problems with the insurance company. But we think alot alike… hahaha
And if your parents worry about inspections, (i know there are different laws in different states) I actually had the people inspecting my truck ask me where i got my horns from and they made me honk as i left the garage
^ I can’t wait until I need an inspection!
