Hi from KY

Hello everyone,

Been looking at horns now for years but just found this sight. I’m a bit strapped for cash right now as many of us are but am looking to put a set of horns on either my boat tower (I hate those old guys in pontoons that cut you off) or my F-150. Can only do one right now and since I dont drive my truck as much as I’d like I’m leaning toward a set for my horns.

Not too sure how well the Bandit 400 system sounds but it’s in my price range. If if could fine a used set that would probably be the way to go but most people are asking close to new prices for much of the used equipment out there so finding a good deal is tough.

Anyway, good to have found this sight and I have a ton of research to do. Hopefully I can make a purchase fairly soon.

Welcome to the forum, Where are you in Ky? Im in Lexington

Fort Thomas, just south of Cincinnati.

you are just east of me.

Welcome aboard P40whk. You fly one of those bad boys? Need to put a set on that. LOL. Anyway, good luck finding what your looking for. I’m sure the Guys at HornBlasters.com can get you squared away. Wouldn’t reccomend shopping anywhere else. They treat ya good and the product is top notch. Well have fun and looking forward to more from ya, pics, vids, excetera.

God Bless My Fallen Brothers and Sisters

I wish I could get to fly a P40! Unfortunately there aren’t that many left. Have gotten a ride in an F-16 and RF-4C but that was years ago. Have my license but don’t fly too much anymore due to the cost.

Was driving in to work this morning and had to keep reminding myself that hitting the horn harder does not make it louder! Sigh.

shockers at 200psi. You cant beat the price for the loudness. Unless you can manage to fine a used airchime on the low.

I could probably swing it but mounting those shockers on my tower may be difficult. I was looking at the pics of them and it looks like there is a support bolt for mounting the front of the horn. Since my tower is only about 10" wide at the top the horns would hang out the front with no place for the mounts. Unless I fashioned a special bracket that probably wouldn’t look that good I doubt they would fit. The only other option would be to place them on the side of the tower which would put them to close to my or the passengers ears!

The tower looks similar to this:

Welcome to the forums

Thanks for all the welcome, I appreciate it. I think being the tinkerer I am, I’ll probably try and piece together a set up rather than buy new. I’ve been checking out compressors and the Viair 380C seems to be the best bang for the buck but I still have a lot more reading to do.

Some of the set ups I’ve seen on these forums leaves me very envious!
