Horn Identification Please

Greetings all,

I’m doing sound on a film and was wondering if anyone can help with some information. I’m getting stuck in research learning which type(s) of horn was used on new york metro trains. The current manufacturer for the current trains would be very helpful, but the period in which the film takes place is the 1980s, and so I’m trying to discover which horns would have been used on the R62 or R62A.

It’s a WABCO/Wabtec horn, either the AA-1, AA-2, or maybe a D-5. You’ll need to do some more research and find out which, if any, of these were used but were common for that time period.

You can also check on the horn & whistle board - there’s usually more collectors and historians there who might know the exact model in question.
