Horn Newbie Need Help!

hey guys, i recently got my license and have always wanted to install train horns. i have a 1999 ford ranger with a 7 foot bed. i was looking into horn blasters at the Shocker Classic 228VX, but honestly thats not enough for me. the Nathan P3 or Leslie RS3 hits the spot!

there are some Nathans and Leslies on ebay for $300 and up, and my budget is $300 just for the horns. I need to get the horns within 2 weeks when i go up to my dad friends house who offered to help me install them, but first i need the horns so if anyone has got any for sale IM INTERESTED. then i am looking to purchase a 5 gallon 8 port tank. along with a 2.54 CFM air compressor, possibly 2 air compressors to cut the fill time in half.

If any of you guys reading this have the horns, tanks, compressors that you not using i am interested just PM me what you have…

so to close it up I’m trying to stay at $300 for P3’s or RS3’s and then a tank and compressor(s) for $200 or less… I’d like to stay under $600…

Any input from you horn guys would be greatly appreciated for im trying to get into this hobby!!

Thank you in advance…

you can always figure out where you want to put the horns, then buy the tank/compressor now. so when you are at your friends house you could run the lines, and hook up the compressors to run. Then the harder part is installed and when you do get your horns, just pop them in… just a thought. Good luck with everything and welcome!

Welcome to the forum. Keep your eye on ebay or amazon, etc… You might get lucky.

Hornblasters has on board air systems within you price range but get the best one you can because you’ll wish you had later on.

Great thanks for the insight! Ill be bidding on some Leslie rs3L tonight and hopefully get those and tank/compressor.

I sure have been around the web checking out kh3 and rs3ls. I was convinced to order the shocker 228vx and realized that’s plastic and not good enough for me if I’m going to do it im doing it right!

If you want to do it right check out the Oasis compressors. Just 1 will outperform any 5 Viairs or Air Zeniths and last 5 times longer.

Get a 1/2" impact wrench and you could start your own roadside tire service and make money too…

Im trying to do it right with a tight budget and I just checked out those compressors and they look fonomenal but will empty out my wallet!
