*hornblasters katrina 5 kit*

I just received my katrina 5 chime train horn kit and this 5 chime is BIG! you wouldnt believe the size of it. It is not installed yet but when it is i will be sure to add pictures and post videos. I was hoping to install horns in between my grill and radiator like most installs but the katrina is 1 solid piece and like i said before BIG. I guess i will have to mount it under my bed of my truck. Does anyone know if that is an okay spot for the horns? Or if anyone has ideas or suggestions to where i could mount them, let me know. Thanks! And if someone is looking for a train horn kit, dont look any further than HORNBLASTERS. Great quality stuff and the best customer service i have ever received. Something wrong with something? Missing pieces? Want stickers? Just ask and before you know it, you will have something in the mail. Highly recommend the katrina 5 kit. ITS A BEAST!

That’s where mine have been mounted for going on 4 years now and have had no issues so far. I would recommend if they’re going to be facing forward that you put something over the bells to keep debris out of them. I’ve got some 1/8" square mesh on my bells.

Just simple mesh will keep them fine from dust, water, rocks, weather, etc…?

That’s what I’ve been using for years and it’s worked so far, I’ve got a k3 though, not sure if that makes that much of a difference. Where under your truck were you planning to install them?

Probably right under the bed of my truck at the front most part of the bed closest to the cab under my truck tool box. I wish they could go up front somewhere.

I haven’t been on hornblasters site in a few months and just looked at the specs on the Katrina horn, do you have a spare tire? for something that big the spare tire well would probably be an ideal location.

Yes there is a spare tire under there but i just know the moment i take it out that i will have a flat or blow out or something. If all else fails i was going to remove the tire. Once i figure it out i will holler and show what i did

Sounds good, best of luck and hopefully you’ll be up and running soon.
