Was looking for horns on eBay and came across a single shocker XL bell for $10. I went to the guys page and found all 3 other bells for also $10. I bought all 4 for a little over 50 bucks (including shipping and stuff) bought some hardware for it from the Hornblasters website and Home Depot and I now use it for the Roswell Hornets touchdown horn with a ball valve. Sounds great and goes great on Friday nights.
Thoughts or suggestions?
For $50, that’s definitely a steal!
Do the s6 upgrade hahaha
Add more horns to make it louder.
A full Shocker kit for $40 is worth checking closely before buying — make sure the compressor and tank are both included and not just the horns themselves. The S6 upgrade suggestion is tempting, but that usually means a bigger air source, so factor that cost in. Stacking extra horns only helps if the tank and compressor can keep up with the demand. I’d ask the seller what’s actually in the box first.
it was only the horns. I knew this before buying because I was not planning on putting it on my vehicle as I already have a flatlaw kit on it. I just paired it with a bostich 6 gallon compressor and a ball valve as a touchdown horn like the falcons or lions have. they did seem to be used pretty good but they sound great nonetheless! I’m not sure that the s6 upgrade would be with it considering the size of the compressor. The picture above is my picture of the setup after I bought it.
Interesting that you’re running the horns off a 6-gallon Bostich rather than a vehicle setup — that makes the compressor question the real one here. With that tank size, adding the S6 upgrade seems like it would just outrun the air supply, so I’d lean toward your instinct that it isn’t worth it. Since they were clearly used, did the diaphragms look okay when you inspected them? That seems like the part that would matter most for how they hold up over time, more than the horn count itself.
