Horns stuck open (HELP!!!!!!!)

I Recently bought the outlaw kit and installed it yesterday and it worked fine for a few honks but now it is constantly open and sounding. I haven’t drained the tank or anything like that. I had to unplug the compressor to get it to stop sounding. My truck was really muddy underneath when we installed them so maybe some dirt or something got in the air hose?? I’m not sure if it is a problem with the horn or compressor or what. Need some help please.

I bet the problem lies in the valve… Depending on the type of valve you have, there is a diaphragm in there. And if any dirt or crap gets in there it can prevent it from closing and or it can wear a hole in it as they are delicate and when that happens the backpressure lets out and it will stay open. Trust me, it happened to me twice! Once in the afternoon and once in early morn. at like 6am…

What kind of valve do you have?

I’m not sure what valve I’m new to this. Whatever came with Hornblasters kit. It also is below freezing down here if that matters. What and how do I take it apart to clean it? Thanks a bunch!

If there is moisture in the tank, and it goes into your airlines to the valve, there is a good chance it is staying open from moisture being frozen… Depending on the valve u have will depend on if you can take it apart and clean it.

If the Moisture isn’t the problem, check and make sure you have Grounded your valve. I had my shockers get stuck on and man it was loud! I hooked up a better ground to my valve and now it works great.

My money is on frozen water.

“Air Brake Antifreeze”

Ive been pondering on adding that to my tanks… Any certain measurement per gallon tank or just add a couple teasspoons?

^^That’s what I’ve always read on the forums here.

I looked at several brands to find some actual directions, but couldn’t find any.
Plenty of MSDSs, but no directions.

Okay guys I figured it out. I took the four screws out of the solenoid to clean it and a lil piece of wire insulation was stuck in there. I let it fall out and from then on it has worked fine! Thanks for all your help!

Guess I would’ve lost money! Glad you got it figured out.
