Well I’m an idiot. Hornblasters uses 5/16 OD tubing and my union tee is a 1/2 1/2 to 1/4 reducer. I don’t know where I got in my head that HB uses 1/4 tubing.
I’m having the worst of luck trying to find a 1/2 x 1/2 x 5/16 union tee. I don’t even know how I found the last one!
No such thing as 5/16 NPT. Most of the quick disconnect fittings are 1/4 NPT.
Or am I misunderstanding…?
I’m not using a NPT or quick connect. I’m going from the main 1/2 line to a 1/2 1/2 5/16 union T reducer. One of the 1/2 goes to the solenoid, and the 5/16 goes to the inflation kit. I have a 1/2 1/2 1/4 union tee reducer right now and the tubing from the inflation kit is too big.
Ahhh ok PTC fitting.
why using 5/16" for inflation kit? I would try for 3/8
Because that’s the OD of the tubing that this uses, no?
It’s not just a raw tube.
Comes with “quick connect stud " so you need a female quick disonnect which will probably have 1/4” npt threads.

You’re right, I just unscrewed my safety release valve and screwed in the 1/4" NPT male quick connect. ONE PROBLEM! That male quick connect is hollow! So air just keeps leaking out of the tank. So I connected the hose and air is still leaking out of the hose! Because it’s an OPEN ENDED coil hose! Oh my god, well atleast now I learned the hard way of what “Open Ended” and “Closed Ended” means. I doubt hornblasters is willing to exchange kits with me because I stripped the poop out of the nuts trying to tighten them. Sigh… I guess I have to get something close ended like this?
