Your wiper fuse should work by the way… if you haven’t moved it back there. That’s where I have mine running to.
well at least someone knew:) i dont know much about electrical just what works for me
yeah it wouldve worked fine if he put the fuse in first lol oh well all good now i think!
I put it back there. I was wondering though if I could use the same switch that I used for the horns and just run the wire from the pressure switch to that switch too. Or would it always be on since the horn always has power.
which horn are you talking about?
if you mean running it to the valve that would be a no…because the when you flip the switch it would turn on the compressor and open the valve thus never having a full tank and would always blow the horns…
but otherwise im not sure what you mean?
so whatever it is it doesnt quite sound like a good idea
I’m not sure what I mean either. The wire that I have running from the stock horn to the switch to be able to switch the big horns on and off. If I run another wire for the compressor to that switch to turn it on/off, would that work or not?
hmm i think i know what your saying
no it would not work
just run 2 switches one turns on/off your horns the other switch turns on/off your compressor
just having one switch would mean they are either both on or both off
and if you want to toggle between which horn blows you would need a special switch other wise its just an on or off switch
ok, so I’ve created a flow chart so you can see how it should be setup…
The blue is air supply, red is power, black is ground.
The dark blue on top of the air tank is the pressure switch with the built in relay…
that toggle switch in betwwen the steering wheel horn needs to be a triple pull switch though if you want to toggle in between which horns you want to sound…it lookss like a normal switch but with 6 prongs
You don’t even need a triple if you wanted to just tap off of your horn’s power wire, the steering wheel will always sound, but when the switch is on, both stock and train horns will sound…
true
prolly wont even be able to hear the stock horn now that i think about it
Here is an updated image…
You must know that it doesn’t matter if your vehicle is turned off or not, your horns will sound if you do it this way… because the horn always has power… so make sure your horn toggle is turned off…
Yeh, so I tried to call a few minutes ago to see what time the HB shop opens tomorrow and Matt answered the phone.
I told him what I was missing and that the valve that was in the box was too small. He said that he was going to get the valve and the few other parts in the mail tomorrow morning and I should get it in a few days. I am glad that he’s going to fix everything, it just sucks that I can’t have my horns working for a few more days.
Oh well. I got all the wiring done and 2 switches installed, one for the comp and the other for the horns. I just need the valve and the 90deg elbows for the airline and I will be honking!!
Dude, didn’t I tell you they would take care of it? Like I said before, the best customer service I have ever dealt with.
nice looking truck, post up some videos when its done
You know I will.
