My pressure switch went bad on me.
I don’t know which pressure switch to get. What do yall recommend?
My other problem is:
I want a new tank, Bigger: Im looking at the 5 gallon w/8 ports, but those ports are 1/2 in.
So does that mean I need new air lines, or can i use 1/4" hose?
Also do i need to get a compressor that will fill that 5 gal. but also i dont want to break the bank for one.
My set up right now is set up on 1/4" hose, also with the 3 gal tank 1/4" fittings, pressure switch (blown) well at least has rusty particals in it, electric solenoid valve.
I never had a check vavle, or pressure gauge or blow off vavle/drain.
if you are looking into a k3 or k5’s i would recommend getting 1/2" lines and 5 to 8 gallon tank with 1/2 inch ports @ 150 PSI - hornblasters has a variety of pressure switches. pretty simple to hook up.
this is the kit that i bought that has almost everything you’ll need minus the horns
What’s your budget? It’s sounds like you’re toying with needing or wanting to upgrade everything. Best case you get a whole kit with everything for $345. 5 gallon tank, new compressor, new pressure switch / relay, including all your missing tank fittings.
If you just want a new tank and pressure switch - what kind of compressor do you have & what is it’s pressure rating. That will tell you what pressure switch to get. You really should have a drain, gauge, and safety valve…not to mention a check valve on the leader hose.
You can always get reducer fittings for the 1/2" ports. They come with the kit if you go that route.
Ive got the black 4 trumpet set up, but thats the problem i dont know the name of the horn kit i got ten years ago…anyways the compressure i have now runs at 1.57 CFM and the tank i have is 3 galllon w/3- 1/4" ports.
I really just want to get a new tank, reducer fittings to 1/4" if i can, a new 10’ hose to the front of truck and compressor and switch. but i know i will be getting in deep real fast.
ear2ear: what is the kit you speak of that is $345?
Ok then I’m not sure what kind of airline you’re using. Just reuse the fittings on both ends and get a reducer bushing for the tank port.
Probably 1/2" (M)NPT x 1/4" (F)NPT bushing.
