Install question

Hey everybody. I have a question about the air lines on my install. I have a set of k5’s and I had to make seperate brackets to install them on my new f250. I got a pair of viair 444 compressors and a 5 gallon tank. I had planned on running a 3/4" line from the tank to a 14" long 3/4" air “log” that I made that has 5 1/2" fittings for the horns themselves. Would it be better to put the tank further away from the horns to gain the volume from the 3/4" line? I planned on putting a fitting on the air log and screwing the electric air valve right too the end of it. How does this sound so far?

If you have the extra airline it won’t hurt to use it. It’s a lot more expensive than a bigger tank though. 3/4" DOT is .566 I.D. so 20 feet of it only equals .26 gallons. Anyway, like you say, put the valve close to your manifold.

Would love to see pics of your brackets and manifold. Welcome.

thanks for the reply. I got a piece of goodyear 3/4 on ebay and its 3/4" ID and also got my 1/2" from the same place. Do you think theres much to be gained from useing the 3" over the 1/2"? I almost have everything welded up and hopefully I will be able to work on it if I dont have to work this weekend.

Also…I need to make all of the hoses coming from the air distribution block to the horns the same length so they will all fire at the same time dont I?

Yes that would be best.

BEAT E2E YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

If it’s 1/2" I.D. hose it’s good, but some guys are upgrading their 1/2" O.D. DOT tubing.

They don’t have to be exactly the same - close counts.

EDIT: Fawk I’m slow!

okie dokie guys. I’ll take pics f it all as im putting it together so everybody can get some ideas. I searched all over this truck trying to find a place to put these monsters hahaha

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the install.
