i love the sound of this…i actually prefer it to alot of others

Good luck finding one lol Only people I know to own them are collectors.

oh really? yeah i didnt even look for them online but i do love the sound

Yeah they sound pretty good to me as well. Alot like a K horn except they only use 1 diaphragm and look similar to a P horn inside lol. They also use the early “stalk” type K3 manifold.

how much will that horn cost? i think a friend of mine have one…

no clue cant find them anywhere mst be rare
find out for me?

if he really has one he would be able to get quite a bit of money. they were only really popular in canada though some did make their way to the usa… as with all horns though, theyre only worth what someone is willing to pay. id definitely be interested if he does have one.

wow it wasnt a j3 it is a p3 lol they look really similar…

Kinda I guess lol A J3 looks just like one of the first made K3’s to me lol

You would be really lucky to find one i understand that there are only 3 of them left the rest were scrapped.

I don’t think that’s true. I know of more than 3 colletors who have one.

Wot does the K, P, J stand for?

from http://www.nathanpseries.info/history.html

“Swanson created the P series as an alternative to the M series. Swanson sold the rights of the P series to Nathan Manufacturing, and Swanson’s Airchime never marketed them directly. According to Chris, it was rumored that Swanson jokingly meant for the “P” to stand for “piss-poor”, as Swanson was never happy with the P horns, and he sold the manufacturing rights to Nathan Manufacturing. As a filler model for his production, Swanson was able to get back to his designing and work, and eventually developed what would refine into the “K” horn, the lasting pride and joy of Swanson’s achievements.”

“K” stands for kettle I think… as in a kettle drum. I’m not sure what the J stands for or even the M.

junk? =)

well i dont want to spend the $$ on a p3 or k5 or anything but i think i would spend it on one of these  even though itl be alot more

You’d be more likely to find a M3… They sound REALLY nice… but if it’s sound you’re looking for, go have a listen to an M5 on youtube. Now THAT’S a horn.

hmm i guess i will have to go listen
im guessing theyre findable though?
