K3LA in a truck tool box

This is my first post here, so go easy on me. Lol.

Hey yall, I have a K3LA setup for my 2021 Silverado. Ive got a tool box that holds my air tank, compressor, setup and wiring, etc. I have a headache rack that has a mount for my horn, but I feel as its obnoxious, and it kinda got old. Plus, I work for the railroad currently as a CT, and the last thing I wanna come off as is a foamer. So, my idea is to mount it inside my tool box. Ive done the measuring, and I think itll fit great. But my guess is, the sound will be slightly muffled since its secluded inside the box itself. Spare tire mounted isnt an option for me, as I wanna keep my spare tire where it is, and it doesnt fit underneath the tool box (which plays into the foamer thing coming into work.)

There was a topic on this same idea a while back, but it didnt gain as much traction and an idea of what it would sound like inside a tool box. Anyone else have experiences with putting their horn inside a tool box? Is it still relatively loud, does it cause problems?

You will hear a pretty substantial reduction in output from that horn if you were to install it inside your toolbox. To still get the full horn output with less than optimal install space on your truck I would recommend using our K3 remote mount brackets. We have seen these used on vehicles as small as a Toyota Corolla to install K3 train horns on.
