k3la's

Anybody have any suggestions on mounting k3la’s on a 08 super-duty? Placing horns and tank with compressor under the truck if possible.

Spare tire spot is most common. look thru the installs section , there are a bunch of trucks in there like yours with similar setups

I’ll look thru installs. spare tire spot probably not an option though. should be getting horns and other goodies next couple of days. this should be interesting since any major engine work requires your cab to be lifted. hope they make quick disconnects…

the pictures of my install should be up this week sometime. My truck is an 05 so stuff is basiclly the same for your install. The best spot to mount the air compressor and air tank is on the outside of the passenger side frame rail. Check out the bracket that I used and see if there is a metal fab shop close to you and see if they can do something similar. Make sure all of you wire connectors are the heat shrink, and wire loom everything, just makes it look good.

Spare tire spot is the optimal mounting location. Thats where my K5’s are. They are a great fit. If you lift your truck, the spare tire is worthless anyway. Check out my post that says FINALLY F250 K5 INSTALL PICS. Let me know what you think.

I mounted mine where the spare tire was… I removed the tire holder and mounted a 12"x12"x1/4" sheet of steel in the holes that were already there. painted everything black, and ran 2 air lines to the end of the air manifold. sounds great too…

Thanks guys for the help. No, not lifting the truck. Gotta be able to fit in garage still. I have everything but the horns as of today. n2ocharged, wondering if you have the 6.4 powerstroke or a gasser?

Mine is a 6.4 PSD…GO STEELERS!

See if theres space up front, its worth a try my k5s fit perfect in the front of my 08 silverado.

I’m looking to see if I’ll have room behind an aftermarket front bumper. We had an elk “problem” last year just outside Boise, ID, when they were coming down from the mountains. There were portions of I-84 that state police just sat with their lights running because it looked like the ground was moving due to the sheer number of elk near the interstate and crossing it.

With eight different heat exchangers behind the grill, I don’t think he will have room up front!

i have mine bolted to the bed floor…its to the left of the driveshaft.behind the fuel tank…idk if it fits on a non lifted truck…mine has a 6" lift and it has about 10inches from the axle to the horn

Definitely no room behind front grill. Have everything but the horns. Still waiting on them. Thought I’d be working on this during the week but between work and surprised the wife with a puppy so I’m busy.

how can you have a huge truck and worry about space… i drive a friggin jap car about half the size and weight of those us trucks lol

the k3’s crammed in the engine bay and bumper cavity… mounted separately:

I’m a power stroker…

Jelle, I doubt you even weigh half of what we weigh. Your car weighs what? 2500lbs maybe? My truck weighed in at 8600 completely empty (No gas, no toys, nothing in the bed, and nothing in the cab… including myself). so I would say probably a 3rd of what I weigh…

Not to mention your car probably doesn’t even clear my cab if we are bumper to bumper. and the roof probably comes up to the bottom of my windows.

My point is… If Jelle is able to install a K3LA, Sprinks should have NO problems mounting…

Well horns will be here tomorrow according to UPS. jelle… look under the hood of one of those trucks and you will see what we are talking about. Not worried about finding room, I’m sure I’ll find a good place. Any of you powerstrokers have any cab off repairs yet?

yep…head gaskets…went ahead and did head studs also…

I’ve had two cabs off myself. Well have everything in hand now. Just need the time to start my project.

im glad ive only done one…r u spartan tuned?or any tune?
