K5LA Drive by- Got the Truck out

Started the truck after it was sitting for 5 months!! Never thought this winter would end. It started up beautifully. Drove it by the shop, changed the oil, put the subs back in and tested everything besides the horn. I saved it for the driveby video. I was not dissapointed. My face lit up like a kid on christmas day, ohh how i have missed my truck :slight_smile:

Enjoy the video

Nice start up vid! :smiley: Your engine looks like my engine lol. Is it a 350?

That’s what my signature says haha

5.7 = 350

I would hope ours looks the same they are same gen trucks :stuck_out_tongue:

lol. except my A/C Is all Torn apart and my front end is beat up from my dad hitting a stupid deer on the freeway. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yea the AC never works on these trucks. My dad got his fixed twice in his 92 then said f it, rolling the windows down.

Looks and sounds great. How’s that odyssey battery holding up?
I just put mine from my old truck in this one and bought a second one. I am running dual Odyssey batteries now on 1/0 :wink:

It is doing awesome, no issues whatsoever, best battery ive ever owned! I got my big 3 done, no tray for a 2nd battery

yeah, my A/C Pump “Harrison Radiator Company of General Motors” Has a busted seal. I tried to get it to air a small 2 gallon tank up and it got to 13psi and it was done! Of course I lubricated it before hand but it seems like the A/C pump is faulty on these trucks mostly. Also Fun fact my Condenser has a giant Rust Hole in it as well. Gonna remove it next time I have the Radiator out so my truck runs cooler. :wink:

I hope that battery was on a battery maintainer that keeps about 13.2V on the battery terminals while the truck was hibernating for winter. Otherwise plate sulphation (crystal build up) can occur and increase internal resistance permanently. A maintainer from Harbor Freight would do it.
Or, just get a good battery warranty like from Costco and replace the battery every 2.9 years for free :slight_smile: But they aren’t Optimas

Oh of course it was on a maintainer. It was on all winter.

I put my battery on a power supply/charger every so often. Mine’s a daily driver though. Good call to keep it trickled…
