K5LA L=low manifold A=American tuned (uses bells 1,2,3a,4a,5) without the A (K5L) would just be a low manifold Canadian tuned using bells 1,2,3,4,5. K5LLA means it’s on a low manifold as well but the extra L means it’s using a 1L bell. I’ve never heard of a K5HLA but a K5HL is a K5 with a High manifold (H) with a 1L bell using bells 1L,1,2,3,4. The difference is just in the notes they play. Different chords is the only difference. Oh and one has all 5 horns in a straight row pretty much and the high manifold has 3 on top like a K3 but with 2 bells underneath. Hope I helped and didn’t confuse ya too much lol
K5HLA
Comes with High Mount 5 Horn Manifold.
But is that offered from Nathan? I’ve never heard of any trains with that.
All I hear is K5LLAs and K5HLs.
Its the same as a K5LLA. Just a high Mount. I have 2 of them that came from down south. Same story, blown diaphragm swap the whole horn. Works for me.
Yes its in use.
Google it.
I didn’t mean it wasn’t in use. I knew what bells it would be and all but I don’t remember ever seeing any Nathan documentation saying they sold K5HLAs specifically. I was just thinkin maybe it was like how K5HA’s used to be kinda rare back in the day.
