Hot dang! Nice setup man… That’s gonna rock
Looks like tight clearance to mount your air line onto the manifold
That’s great!
Looks like your all set up for some full grade crossing videos… hint hint
Are you going to just run the airline in the window?
no cause that would look goofy. haha.
so far what iv planned is to do a bulk head fitting on the roof. And run all the lines under the carpet and over the headliner. so basically drill a hole in the roof, which im like  at first cause if i dont seal it right water will get through.
Not sure if it’d work, but check out deckwash couplers (you know the kind the put on fancy yachts). They flush mount, are stainless so won’t rust, plus they’ll have an inbuilt cap.
oh it looks much like a quick connect for air tools. idk much about those, but i do know air tool coupler cant provide the CFM. not sure how they compare.
heres the bulkhead fitting i have… its from Mcmastercarr. its really a through wall fitting tho.
nice, i bet it could sound as nice as this guy’s (best sounding k5 i’ve every heard)

^^^FYI that has british pipe threads.
They also have PTC x PTC bulkheads and PTC x NPT bulkheads.
As well as many high flow quick disconnects.
yah i know. it was the only fitting that would work for what i have planned
ideally if there was an elbow that was 3/4 NPT x 3/4 BSPP that would be awesome, but i cant find any.
so another thing i have in mind is buy a regular 3/4 NPT elbow at homedepot and retap one end to BSPP. not sure if it would work the way im imagining it.
or i can buy adapters
Need to be sure that your racks can’t easily be moved. All someone would have to do is cut the air line and disconnect the rack and they’d be a thousand dollars richer on Ebay a couple days later.
Or lock them inside whenever you leave the truck.
I wont leave them on while there not in my line of sight. like ill probably only use them for special occasions.
and im not too worried about the racks, there solid as a rock.
plus it takes about 10 min to get the horn off the mount anyways. I have to use a manual wrench cause nothing else fits.
InfamasStalin, I love the setup. I like where you put the manual valve. I am trying to plan out my new system and that location of the manual valve would probably work for my 2007 D-Max
That looks cool ! Maybe I’ll do that to my silverado cuz I’m running out of room under my truck:rolleyes:
the location of the manual valve changed. it would of been a pain to drill the holes to mount the valve without this air drill. http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&safe=off&sa=N&tbo=d&
i dont have on of those and i didnt feel like spending money on one. So i moved the valve higher. where i could get a larger drill in.
then again im not sure if the interiors are the same in the Dmax and tahoe…
Update:
So i spent the day finishing up the pluming for the roof mount. I already ran a IN air line from the tank, into the cab and under the carpet. now it was time to run the OUT air line.
I bought a different bulkhead fitting. youll see in the pics.
X marks the spot. I took my measurements, checked them 3 times, said a prayer, checked the measurements again, and then picked up the drill… no turning back
It was such a wierd feeling drilling through the roof of my car…
The other side
Thats the 3/4 npt bulkhead fitting. Female on both ends. Theres a nut on the other side that tightens it down and creates a nice water tight seal around the rubber washer.
With the fittings in place. Now you see it…
Now you dont. The idea was to be able to return everything to “stock,” or make it hidden when not being used.
Intake hose
The valve bolts on to the center console, and comes of when not is use.
what i need to do here is add an elbow cause i had issues getting the tube out of that fitting.
Is that the new ointment you can get to soothe a hole in your roof?
Hehe… Good job man. Looks awesome. Bet you can’t wait to get that newly tuned K mounted.
HAHA! I didn’t catch that spelling error. i meant to say ‘an elbow’.
I had a hard enough time hole sawing my bed - can’t imagine doing the roof.
Looks good!
