So i have a kit that i bought years back so i have some of the stuff… maybe. i have 5 gallon tank, vair 450, 110/145 pressure. what do i need to up grade 4 my new k5s? whats a good pressure to run? someone told me i had to run a manuel valve? this true?
You don’t have to run a manual valve, but it is a good idea… from what I’ve heard. I would probably upgrade the tank to a 10 gallon or so, get a dual compressor pack… i’ve got a K3 and I’m running a 5 gallon tank with dual compressors… hopefully it’ll be enough…
could i do two 5 gal or just one 10? where can i buy one of these manuel valves? thanks
You dont need a manual valve, a graham white is pricey, a simple 1/2 ball valve will suffice. Now if you dont want airlines running to the inside of your truck then a good electric valve will work fine.
What are uses for the horns. You looking to sound like a train, or do you just want loud horns for when the time is needed. Just looking to honk, get an electric valve. H.B. sells some good valves. Personally I like GC Extreme valves.
Also make sure you run 1/2 inch everything from tank to horns.
One 5 gallon will work, any smaller the compressors will run every time you honk. You go over 5 gallons two compressors are suggested.
what kind of honk would you get with a 8.5 gal tank with a k5a vs. a k3a? i’m assuming you can answer this lol
Honk would be the same, youll get a longer blast from a k3 then a k5. K5 uses more air. Prob a 4 sec full blast on a k5 before compressors kick on. 7 on a k3.
Cool thanks, were could i get one these graham white valves if i decide to go that route? and whats pricey?
Two five gallon tanks works fine. Just run 1/2in line between them.
I’d also recommend the 15mm 1/2in SMC Valves: http://www.hornblasters.com/products/details.php?i=smc-1-2-in-npt-15-mm-brass-air-valve
thanks, ill order one and hopefully get this thing hooked up asap
