KAHLENBERG t-3 vs nathan k5la?????

i currently have the great KAHLENBERG t-3 ship horn and have just recently ordered a k5la. Im thinking i might sell my KAHLENBERG. i know the KAHLENBERG is worth much more than the k5 but not sher what to ask for it. has anyone seen one fore sale ar know a used value??? new the horn sells foe over $3k and mine was made in 1941. any help would be great!!! thanks

There are some pretty serious horn collectors on the Horn and Whistle Board.
They would probably know.

They look like solid brass or a brass alloy so there’s a stack of value in just the metal alone probably. I found one reference to an old sale of a T3 (from 2009) on the H&W Board which sold for $1200 (not sure what condition it was in). As ear2ear suggested, it’s probably the best place to find a buyer or more advice.

Thanks I will try there. And the horn is solid cast reonz with spun brass trumpits. Just FYI.

If you post its picture on hornwhistleboard, they will give you a good estimate.

I’m interested in your Kahlenberg T-3.

Bytw…the $1200 T-3 was most likely the one I bought a few years ago. I picked it up personally from Adam. It’s in mint condition, dent-free, pickled & restored.

My t3 is getting cleaned up and refurbished after being on a tugboat in Panama City fl for the past 75 years, lol. I will send pics when it is out. Thanks for interest.
