Leslie RS5T on a Subaru Legacy

Here is my final install. This is the maximum-orifice (marine) configuration, and it is LOUD! I have a 2-stage solenoid system, so that the horn can be modulated, and I just got a Graham-white valve that I will be putting in. It is powered by five Viair 480s and 26 gallons of air total (two 5-gallon and two 8-gallon tanks)

holy crap, got any pics of all the compressors and tanks

^^^^^ x2 gotta see compressors & tanks!

Looks like you used a support plate on the roof?

nice set up bro ya
i wudd like to see
your air kit two:D
that horn looks sweet on your roof
vary nice.
peace

Dammmm! That’s Awesome Joseph! Thanks for sharing, those horns are well kept.

It has 1/4" plate inside and out; a very sturdy setup. I’ll get some pics of the air setup when I get back home (truck driver)

purty!

mother of god! sweet set up!

WOW! Nice looking horn. How does your alternator and battery keep up with all those compressors?

Wow !!!

An over kill horn, but bad oven!

Yeah, the compressors draw alot of current, so I have a deep-cycle battery and isolator mounted near them. I have 10 feet of 1/2 inch copper coil to cool the air coming from them (to eliminate condensation) as well as 2 different types of filter between tanks and horn. I recently changed the RS power chambers to dome-backs, and it sounds incredible! It’s actually louder !

You’re killin me…
Need pics & vids!

How do you post sound files? I’ve got a couple of WAV & MP3 recordings of it for now, and need to borrow my mother-in-law’s video camera soon.

Here’s the latest configuration. I changed the RS heads for the dome-back S heads, and sweet Jesus it’s LOUD!!!

U got any pics of your compressor setup yet?

I’ll take some pics. I’ve sold four of the compressors, because I’m getting an Oasis compressor in a couple of months. For now, I’m back to a bare-bones setup: Two compressors and two tanks. I still have the twin lines, filters, and air-cooling rig, though.

I was just looking at these pics again.
That thing just looks crazy sitting up there.
Is your roof sagging from the weight?

Yes, crazy as in AWESOME!! I LOVE this thing!! The roof does sag a little bit, but it’s a very sturdy setup. The body isn’t creasing, and you can shake the whole car by the horn. No leaks, either. There is a crossmember under the manifold, sandwiched by the two steel plates inside and out. I believe that this setup will last as long as the car will.

seems cool to have the horn on the roof…but having the roof sag like that is very crappy looking
