leslie supertyfon horns

Good morning all. As the title states I just got a set of these horns. They have a #44,#31,#21 bells I think. I’ve been reading that if they work DON’T take them apart. Is this true? And second has any1 painted there horns with that do it yourself bed liner kit for the protection scene i’ll be mounting the horns under my tundra ? Thanx any all advice would be awesome .

When it comes to refurbishing horns I recommend the hornwhistleboard forum. To check for debris, damaged diaphrams, or maybe clogged ports, the horns need to be taken apart. I think it’s also recommended for painting or powder coating.

Thanx danh . I guess I’m gonna have to take them apart . Do I need to take them apart if I know they work ?

From other posts ive read about the leslies, if they work fine and sound good do not take them apart.

Here is a good thread I think: http://www.trainhornforums.com/showthread.php?t=5761&highlight=leslie

Thanx Bryan that’s what I thought

We rebuild the Leslie S2M’s here at work all the time. If you take them apart just make sure the orifice in the diaphram lines up with the dowel port. We are scrapping the old equipment and shipping them to Ohio. So there should be a glut of Leslies coming up on ebay and various seller sites soon. I found 2 the other day from Ohio
