Line & Compression Fittings

I need to pick up some 1/2" DOT Reinforced Air Line to replace what I currently have. What came installed on the Siege kit I have (got it used with a truck) was 1/2 DOT, but it was cut too short for me to use. I’m having a hard time finding replacement compression fittings since I’m not going to re-use the ones there (I’ve never successfully re-used a compression fitting). I looked at hornblasters site under fittings and saw some 1/2 DOT line, but no fittings for it. Anyone have a good source?

Any truckstop (Flying J, Truckstops of America, etc.) should have them, along with wherever you’re buying the 1/2 air hose, like auto parts stores, Napa, etc.

I live out in the middle of nowhere, we don’t have cool places to go shopping (unless you call Wal-Mart cool, but even that is like a 45 minute drive). I was going to order directly from Hornblasters website until I noticed they didn’t sell the fittings. I’ll have to check the “local” NAPA and see if they carry anything.

the sell them … they sell anything you need all u have to do is give them a call

I just went and picked up some 1/2" line from the 3rd autoparts store I went to. Got some compression fittings but I think they’re the wrong ones (stupid me didn’t bring the ones I need). Now that I look at the line, I honestly think what I had was 5/8" line - but that seems like a bit of overkill for the Kong MKII horns IMO. I’ll see when I get home.

Ditch the compressio fittings and get PTC fittings… (Push to connect)

You literally push the tubing in them, and your done! No leaks , no worrys! Like said , call up hornblasters and they can set you up with what you need.

I agree, go with PTC fittings much easier and reliable. You can find them online to order too.

Went to the autoparts store today and got my money back on the pressure fittings that I wasn’t going to use.

I know that page all too well, I send it to everyone

Lmao ain’t it great!

Yeah, on my forums I have this LMGTFY button:

I love that site. I work in IT and every time someone asks me a stupid question, I use it.

I have never had success with PTC fittings, they would always fail in less than a week. I replaced everything with compression fittings and havent had to touch anything in over a year.

I get all my fittings from mcmaster-carr (google it)

When I went to the autoparts store they gave me some inserts (crush sleeves?) for the compression fittings I already had for like $2 so I can re-use them. Can’t beat that.
