lookin for system that handles a K3

I bought a horn system with a 2.5g reservoir and dual pumps from Seige Engineering a couple years ago. I had so many problem with the horns vibrating apart i finally said to hell with it.

I bought a Nathan K3 and have been running it with the Seige air system only at 125psi. Now one of the compressors has failed and takes forever to fill the tank.

Im looking into getting a quality compressor or system to use with my airchimes. I bought the previous stuff not knowing anything and cause it was cheap.

I could really use some advise of what to go with. I dont want to break the bank but lol is it possible when it comes to train horns lol

This is probably what you’re looking for:

Looks like the only other things you would need is a nice air valve and some 1/2 air line…

thats kind of what im looking for, trying to decide what to go with. I currently have 1/2 airline, 1/2 air valve, 1/2 fittings etc. All of this is in my Grand Marquis.

Dont I want 200 psi blasts?

No because you’ll tear up the diaphrams.

I run mine between 150 and 175 (cuz I have a 175 psi pressure switch) and with almost ten feet of line between my manual valve and bells I’m not too worried about the pressure.

And really consider the manual valve … its a few bucks more than the electric, but it’s soooooo much more fun.

Thanks for your input Kris. What size tank are you running with your setup?

I started off with the Horn-Air 540 (http://www.hornblasters.com/products/details.php?i=hornair-540-horn-air-system) and then upgraded quite a bit of it.

IIRC … I swapped out the pressure switch for the 145/175 psi, upgraded to the Air Zenith OB2, added an electric valve to drain water from the tank, added the generic GW manual valve, added another 10 feet of 1/2 air line, and then swapped to the 235 psi relief valve.

I get a solid 4 to 5 seconds of horn time with this, and from 0 to full is about 5 minutes.

For quality and performance check this out

It fills 5 gallons from 0 - 150 PSI in less than a minute.

Wow, everytime I try to load the page it says “The website declined to show the page”

How is the AZ compared to the VIAIR Compressors? That OASIS looks freakin sweet but a little out of my budget for the time being.

I’ve heard there were some issues with them… not saying they are bad as I’ve never tried them… but I always go with what I hear works great. I’ve had my Viair 400c’s mounted on my truck for about 2 years or so… They haven’t failed me yet… they fill my 5gal air tank pretty quick too… not quite as fast as the Oasis (which I will one day have, but only after my buckstop bumper) but they kick donkey butt…

The AZ compressors might be a good setup to go with now, I’m not sure. It was a while ago that I was going to get them… I actually had them setup to ship from hornblasters when I changed my mind.

I heard that some of the people that had been working for Viair split and started Air Zenith but they don’t have the backing or reputation Viair has. If AZ’s warranty is as good as Viair’s and if they stand behind it, then it shouldn’t matter too much.

If I couldn’t get an Oasis and could only choose between Viair & AZ, I’d go with Viair because they’ve had more time to work out the bugs.
