Lowes - 5/8" I.D. Hose

I just blew my Lowes 5/8" I.D. - 200psi rated hose with less than 2 weeks of use.
The pressure switch is accurate and stops right at 200.

The fix is some new Dayco 300psi hose from a supplier in town. $1.19 / ft

Big difference in quality. The Lowes hose has a plastic liner and 1 braid, whereas the Dayco hose is a true rubber, double layer, double braided air hose.

I would not recommend the Lowes hose for 200 psi.

I use Air brake hose. I believe its 300psi rated… idk tho, may be 200  it works. thats all that matters to me

Nothing will beat a hydraulic hose. If I had a line that was constantly under pressure, that would be the only line I would use.

I hear ya. This was all I could find in town before places closed.
I also asked for hydraulic, but they would have to order.

The salesman asked what it was for, so I showed him my horns.

Then I ran home, installed new hoses, made it back there for a serious driveby before 5:00pm.
I blew that place up!

O’Reilly’s crimps hydraulic hoses to fit. Just what what size, length and ends.

That’s good to know. I have a buddy that works there.
Will have to look into that next summer.

Pirtek is my best friend!

Is that a manufacturer or supplier/distributor?
