has anyone ever made custom diaphragms for a horn? i got a cheap air from a buddy and it has clear plastic ones… any ideas?
Eh, I’m not sure. I called every metal shop here in my state (arkansas) to get some metal ones for my P horn. No one had any metal that thin. Not too sure about plastic though.
use stainless
scan them with a ruler in to a jpg at 300dpi
and i can laser cut them for you
but i will need to know how thick it is
so you need a deep Micrometer
take a reading at edge and center and 1/2 way to center
i have files for all the Nathan’s, Leslie’s,
KAHLENBERG D3, Leslie Tyfon A-200, and Leslie Tyfon 425-DVE
(i have a Tyfon 425-DVE on my house i use for block parties lol)
add this note
p.s.
that thing kicks a k5’s a$$ at output :D:rolleyes:
Yeah considering it’s a SHIP horn, is made better and with better quality, is 10x heavier and larger, etc etc lol
holy shizit! bet the neighborhood loves that bigboy going off ! lol:D
I HAD A Tyfon 425-DVE AS WELL MY WAS CONNECTED TO A 120 GALLON TANK/AIR COMPRESSOR. THERE IS THIS GUY IN DENTON, TEXAS HE MAKES DIAPHRAGMS FOR $3-5 A PIECE DEPENDING ON HORN TYPE. HE ALSO SPECIALIZES IN LESLIE/PRIME CAP BACKS.
