My shockers started literally screaching at any pressure above 140 psi. I took the horns off and noticed that both of the longer horns I could shake and hear th diaphragm move when I shook them. The set screws had backed out almost all the way. I tightened up the set screws on the 2 horns just enough to make them sound somewhat normal. However now I feel that the horns are still a little higher pitch then normal. How can I adjust this or do I just have to go on a back road and adjust the set screws until it satisfies me?
I believe once you start messing around with the set screws (calibration) you void the warranty… Might want to call hornblasters and check with them on the proper steps to take.
Yea, it says on their website that it void the warranty, but I didn’t read that until after I did it. They sound decent, but it just isn’t perfect now.
You should have called them saying they backed out and you could hear the diaphragms
Very easy to tune. do it clock wise in 1/8" turn to increase tension. Fire them all up and listen for the one that is off. then adjust until in voices. If you need help Pm me.
Good Luck

Do you mean just listen to 1 horn at a time or all 4? I know that the problem is the 2 longest horns, they are the ones that the set screw started to back out on. I played with them today and got them to sound a little better, but I’m still not satisfied. I think I am going to throw these Shocker XL’s on my van and either get another set of XL’s or something else in the $2-300 range. Does anyone have anything for sale in that range that would be better than the shockers? I want a K3 or K5, but can’t justify spending that kind of money on a horn.
Yeah you can do it that way. If not mounted already hook them up to a air source and adjust them to they all voice at the same time. You will hear when they are not voicing at once. But adjust the ones you already messed with first. start at 1/16 turns first then to 1/8. what you are doing is balancing the horns out. if you back them off they will not voice or will warble. if that happens start to tighten until it voices. you will hear it. Let me know how you make out. If that doesn’t work might have to send them back for repair.
Thanks alot man! I will definitely give it a shot this weekend, I just have to find a place to do it now without annoying my neighbors.
