Mounting Horns - why so many rear mount

I see alot of installs are in the rear of vehicles.
Does this not detract from the effect ?
I managed to squeeze my tripple horns behind my bumper pointing down and hope to fit a set of Shockers there as a replacment…

Some vehicles simply don’t have room for big horns. As far as the sound goes, anytime you put an obstruction in front of the horn it can cause A slight reduction in Db levels. For instance, A train Horn is mounted high up so its sound carries further and seems louder than the same horn that is mounted under A car or truck that might have something in front of the bells. Just my 2 cents.

i have my shockers mounted behing the grill facing down. deff loud enough. and i will probably be putting my phycoblasters under the rear facing back for thos annoying tailgaters.

is there a major diff between shockers and psychos ?

you have massive room behind ur grill…

That looks very familiar …
mine…

I have my psycho blasters mounted below my ext cab door on pass side on side of frame pointed backwards… They blast back toward tailgaters , and the people on the side get an earful if they are drifting into my lane…

The psychos have a real high pitch tone to them , as where the shockers are deep…

it was actually kind of a tight fit. there is only about 1/2" between the fittings and the rad, and about 1/2 between the horns and the grill.
