my hornblasters kit has arrived!!

wahoooo my kit arrived today, WOW! WOW! looks awesome:D
but where the hell do i start? lol, theres lots of parts to assemble aint got a clue where to start lol.
can anyone help out here?

its the 565xl 175psi kit with 5gallon tank…

mount everything… run the electrical… run the air lines and your good to go

dont these kits come with instructions? or wiring diagrams?

The 565XL kit has the same installation as the 540XL, it is only a different air compressor. Here is a link for you:

If you have any questions about the install please call 1-877-209-8179.

The kits do come with instructions, including a wiring diagram. They are also available online under our help and support section: http://www.hornblasters.com/support/manuals_and_schematics.

We apologize if you didn’t receive one with your kit. We’d be more than happy to mail you one if you’d like, or you can download/view them online on our website. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call us at +1 (813) 783-8058. We’d be more than happy to walk you through any part of the installation.

Thanks for your order!

take some pic’s of the install!!!

thanks for the replies guys:D as long as i can ask on here and look on the website im happy i should be able to suss it out:)
i will take some pics dont you worry… (i had no instructions)

ok some questions…

do you leave the red blanks in the tank and just use as many as needed? or do the rest have to be blanked off? if yes i dont think i have enough blanks??

does the pressure switch fit in the tank and then wire it up from there?

where does the relief valve fit? in the tank too? the one with the ring in the end you can pull and its spring loaded…

so i have one main 1/2" pipe coming out the tank to the big valve then 4 out the other end of that going to the horns right? so do i need to blank the rest in the tank as said above?

is there any need to mount the pressure guage on the dashboard or dont it matter? and does this run seperatly from the tank just to give you a reading?

the psychoblasters, they only operate when the valve is opened right? so these can be piped straight from the tank seperatly and then wired in which ever way i prefer right?

why does the tank say 150psi? is it dangerous pressurizing it to 175psi?

sorry for all the questions and if i appear a little stupid lol (i know i said it!! lol) but ive got to get it all right first time right…

The blanks go out of the tank. You were giving all of the necessary fittings.

Please follow the instruction manual that I posted a link to. It will explain everything for you.
There is a visual diagram as well.

Please PM me if you have any more specific questions.

No problem! We’re here to help

The red plastic blanks are just to prevent debris, and rust in the tanks while they’re in our warehouse. You need to remove all of them and use the brass fittings provided.

You should: you purchased PsychoBlasters with the horn kit, so there should be reducers to run smaller air line instead of some of the regular plugs.

You got it. There should be a 1/2in NPT to 1/8in NPT reducer so you can fit it. Just make sure its not installed into the bottom most port of the tank.

The relief valve normally fits in any open port beside the bottom most one (this is where your drank cock will go)

You need to install the plugs and other fittings into the tank to seal up the system.

It doesn’t matter where you mount the gauge really. Some people like to monitor the pressure from the cab, but it never seemed to matter to me. You’ll know when your tank has air…

It’s pretty useful on the tank if you ever need to troubleshoot your system, so I’d recommend it there. You can always get a second gauge for the cab later if you want one.

You can either mount it to the tank, or run air line from the tank to the bottom of it. (Presuming you have a standard gauge)

That’s right. Just plumb them to the tank and they’ll hold pressure. You can be pretty creative with the wiring from then on. Either a button for each horn, or switches; you can hook it up to your alarm, or keyless entry as well.

The tank in your kit is rated to 300 PSI. It’s stamped 150 because its intending use is in lower pressure air suspension. Don’t worry, they more than meet the safety requirements necessary.

thankyou ever so much for answering all that for me:):)

im installing it tomorrow and want to get as much info as poss and be sure so i dont get confused… lol. so thanks for your help most appreciated…

great kit u bought there bud

excellent!! cant wait to get it all working…

ok just the wiring part thats confusing me a little, in those links that take you to the wiring diagram at the bottom, i cant see how the relay is wired up?
it looks as though the pressure switch in the tank has 4 wires coming off it? but only 2 connections that right?

please excuse me for the questions im no wiring expert lol…

PM sent.

Apologize about the confusion with that one. The 4 wire version contains a relay and pressure switch in a single unit. The kit you bought comes with them separate instead.

Here are two diagrams that should help:
http://static.hornblasters.org/diagrams/dgm-viair_dual_packs.pdf
http://www.viaircorp.com/OnRoad/Schematics/dualc_wd.pdf

Please note that both of these diagrams are intended for dual compressor setups. Just ignore the second compressor and relay and it’ll work the same.

superb!! thankyou very much for that guys… :)

How’d you get on? you installed it yet?..it is easy peasy really…(mind you I’m on my third set of horns now… well almost…

hi pete, tomorrow is the day…

hows the pipe held on the psychoblasters any idea?

Take off the barb fitting, and place the 1/8"-1/4" push to pull (its silver). Then the airline will simply push into the fitting.

Hows the install coming along?

its gone pretty smooth to be honest… just waiting for the right safety valve to arrive, and ive got to fit the psychoblasters and its all finished…
