My horns are installed

Well its taken a few weeks but I finally got around to install my horns and I want to say thanks to Garrett…I am a member of cummins forum as well and was hooked up to call Garrett and as they say the rest is history…he gave me a great deal and I am passing that along any chance I get

I did things a lil different from instructions but with the same results…LOUD HORNS

Heres a few pics of my install and feel free to point out things that I should change or make better…this is my first time

this is the kit as I unpacked it on my tail gate

We made a custom mount…I was going to mount on pass. side between frame and body but the floor pan rolls down on the outside and made the horns stick down about an 1"…not cool

A back view a mount setup and the small pieces of line…I had to try them at work…very loud

I mounted horns in the spare tire area…worked out great

I mounted compressor to a small plate and then used SS straps to fasten it to the crossover member for tranny…really worked out good…I also added the isolator blocks and that helped with the noise and the vibration

Here is the supply line for the compressor…their is 2 holes thru the frame that worked out great for the line

This is my tank setup…first off we welded 4 bolts to the frame for our mounting of the tank and then I used a “T” on one end to supply the air to the horns and also the pressure switch…worked great and kept things up out of harms way

these are my switches…1 is the trigger for the compressor and I used the other for the solenoid for the horns…I did not tie into factory horn circuit

very nice install like how the horns are mounted

Great job! When I saw the way you mounted your horns, I thought they looked like a high manifold P5 minus the 5th bell. lol

Good install everything looks good. I’m a member of CF as well I’m (txarrowhunter)

Thanks guys…my CF name is “barney”

Nice install. I’m a CF member also. I go by Dirty Jersey CTD

Conductors 540?

No it is the conductor 240 kit…I need to put some dense foam between the plate on the compressor and the frame rail which I will probably do Monday since I have to replace P.S. but other then that its working great

What kind of truck is it on?

2008 dodge ram 2500

Jim,

The install is awesome! I love the horn mount. Very unique. Just a heads up, that air filter should be mounted in a high and dry location, if the compressor is going to be mounted under the vehicle. Not doing so could cause moisture and debris to enter your air compressor, voiding the one year warranty, and shortening the performance and life of the model.

The kit was included with your package ;).

Again, job well done!

Thanks Garrett…Hey I will get truck pics to ya soon with that being said do you have any ideas on the filter mount…I mean everything under the truck does not fall in the category of high n dry and I thought about that and did a search but did not know where to put filter at.

suggestions are welcome

thanks
