Here’s some pics of my install. Basically ran a 6mm hot wire from the battery all the way to my tool box, straight to the distribution box. I went with the distribution box so it looks cleaner and i can always swap out the hot wire to a thicker gauge to add a second compressor. I did the same setup for the ground. Setup the distribution box and grounded everything to that. I have a megacab so routing everything took a good 15 meters of cable.
Then i hooked up the valve right next to the tank. After the valve there is about 4 meters of air hose to the horn. Surprisingly, there is no lag time, or at least i cant notice it.
Now to the horns, as you can see in the pics, they are just mounted onto a ball mount hitch. I modified it and welded another plate to it, that way i could secure it. I know this limits my ability to tow, but i can either take it off while i tow, or just not tow at all. I dont have a trailer and I live in Germany where trailers are made for small Opel corsa’s. That would mean i have to get a drop hitch with about 15" of drop. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
Best of all my entire system is completely bolt on, NO holes were drilled on the truck. The only holes are to the toolbox. That way i can still keep my resale value. But, i dont think i want to sell her anyways.
