none of these have teh grace of having horns yet, but they will in due time. already have a few sets of horns and a spare tank or two for them, plus a full out air compressors setup for the truck.
my toys. 1995 Jeep Grand cherokee. nothing special really. other than being beat to smitherines
when i first bought it. stock, factory Up country (1-2" higher than a normal ZJ) Loaded, leather, sunroof, basically top of the line in 95.
all good but the PO slid it into a pole. picked it up running for $600/ hard to tell but the rocker is actually pushed in about 6" or so, and it has a new door on it, the old one looked like a taco
it made a slow progress into, well not much.
ratched strapped teh door in place, and added some tires
stock flex: not impressed
what you can do with a sawzall and torch (no more sway bars, added longer shocks)
wheeled like that. then upgraded rear tires. 31x15.5-15 tractors
added some custom bumpers (well 2x6 box tube welded together)
i have TONS of wheeling pics. i was honestly suprised where you can put a basically stock ZJ with lots of skinny pedal and little care for the vehicle lol
the other one is my work in progress. 77 Chevy 3/4 ton. from what i can find, it is actually an 82-83 but is titled as a 77.
here is the short build history on it.
bought it, regular cab long bed 3/4 ton. 4" lift, 3" body lift. 35" tires
body in decent shape, ran kinda, needed a little work. what does my dumbass do? break out the sawzall!
lost 19" off the bed. but thats not it, took 30" from the center for a dovetail
top view
gotta make the front match, bumper and all
now, the fun stuff. went pull a few rear springs to soften up the packs, ended up breaking a main leaf. so i replaced teh stock rear 52" springs with 63" springs from a newer model half ton. doing a shackle flip while i am in there as well. due to the broke leaf, and replacing with longer spings something had to give as far as wheelbase is concerned. so i removed 22 1/4 inches of the center section of frame to shorten the whole truck. going from a 131" wheelbase down to a more manageable 114" wheelbase.
looking back i could have done a better job with shortening it, but it is done now, and came out straight as well.
first look at the new wheelbase
and that is pretty much how it has sat since may. time and money do not let me do much to it any more. and i have not wheeled as much as usual, so why finish my wheeling rig if i don’t wheel much? one day i will finish it and have some good pics of it.
Awesome trucks man.
I recognize that chevy on the right from fsc.
