Nathan k5la on a 2012 honda accord sedan?!? Am I being unrealistic?

I had a 1999 acura cl and I drilled holes in the trunk and mounted boat horns with angle iron in the trunk of this car and the system worked perfectly. I have a new car now and want to put the real deal on this one, but I don’t have the know how to determine if horns of this size could be fitted to the vehicle, preferably without voiding the warranties on the vehicle.

I know anything can be done, but would I be talking about moving major components to make this happen?

Welcome to the forum. K5’s can take up a lot of space but you might be able to split them up if you can find individual manifolds.

Yeah, if you don’t want to cut your whole trunk out, the individual mounting brackets would be your best bet. But still, it’ll be a challenge to mount 5 bells. If you can get the 1 & 2 mounted, the 3, 4, & 5 are a lot smaller/easier.

I want to go with the k5 la due to the amazing sound but don’t know how realistic getting all 5 horns on the car is without some major installation nightmares. Are there any other train horn products with a worthy sound that might be more practical in regards to spacing?

I have some pictures somewhere, of someone I know over here and he has fitted them to a Ford Focus RS, if they can go on that, I’m sure they will go on a Honda accord! He has used the individual mounts that the guys were talking about. (I also know someone who fitted them to a moped, but that’s a story for another thread)

How much is te quality if the sound affected by the different angle of the bells? Thanks for the photos! I’m hoping I can find a way to put this together properly.

The angle of the Bells is entirely up to you, but bare in mind your Horns are now directional and always going to sound louder whichever way you point them, however, a general rule is pointing them at the ground if possible so the sound wave obliterate and go everywhere. Having said all this, your fitting K5’s, so they are going to be stupid loud whichever way you point them!!!

Agreed - they’re loud regardless.
Try to mount them without any major obstructions in front of each bell.

And if you have to point em anywhere point them to the back so they don’t scoop up dirt, water and debris etc

So mounting them in diffeent locations on the chassis wouldn’t cause too much of an issue? Looking at getting K3’s too, so watching this with interest as MG pretty much shoe horned everything into place in my car :frowning:

mounting them in separate areas will cause 0% issue. i have them they work great you NEED to make sure your airlines to each bell is about no longer than 3-5 feet the shorter the better. I also run a 1/2 ID hose to the manifold. it is much louder than it with just a regular 1/2 line. go to realtrainhorns.net for any REAL train horns much cheaper and they are powdercoated. you can call and get what ever you want. everything is not on the site. you can get a K5LA on single mounts, kit with a 5 gallon tank a compressor for $1100 or a K3LA kit is $900. Hornblasters is great still but the are EXTREMELY over priced on AirChime. here is a K3LA kit http://realtrainhorns.net/shop/index.php?_a=category&cat_id=62 If i were you save the $200 more to get K5’s if you have the space check out my install good luck with everything

One of our forum members, Honduhh, has/had a Civic hatchback with a K3 on it. I’d suggest running through the installs section on the forums or on HB’s main site and see what ideas you can find there for your install.
