nathans k3?

i was wondering if i could fit a nathen k3 in a cobalt ss supercharged i seen an install with the shockers it looks pretty promising but im not sure of the size difference between the 2

WIth custom brackets from curt I’m sure you could do it.

o ok sounds good well im gunna get me a set of k3’s next month and im sure i can make a bracket for them i am tickled poopless right now i have watched the videos and read the stories on the forums and laughed so hard my stomach hurt and i couldnt breathe

Nathans rock!

Let me know, I have never seen an install on a cobalt yet. Be aware though A k3 is much larger then a shocker set.

Hey man if you need a k3 set let me know. If someone can get it on a civic then I sure you could do it on a cobalt.

what are the dimensions of each horn so i can measure everything out to make sure everything fits before i drop 1200 bucks into sumthing i cant use and have to sale to someone

iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

thanks yall ill be home next month and ill get right on this im so excited:D

now dude you don’t have to drop 1200…like for instance i am selling a K3 horn for $450 and then you can go to hornblasters.com and then just order you an onboard air system. I spent exactly 800 for everything including horns, air system, and electric air valve.

im thinkin bout buying pgreens k3’s and then buying the air setup from hornblasters but the wiring im not sure wat im gunna need im gunna try to get 2 5gal tanks and 3 compressors wat size wiring should i use for all of it

3 compressors, you may need to get a ho alternator. unless you already got one hehe

Depending on the vehicle, you might even need to get a secondary altenator.

What kind of truck do you have?

Kris

i dont have a truck i have a cobalt ss supercharged i dont have the room for another alternator so whats the most i can put in my lil bitty car

000000000000000

Yea man, just do two compressors and if you ever want a third you could figure it out then, but just try first and you may be surprised how good two work and save you 100-200 bucks…

Better do your math on the amperage that 3 compressors will pull, and what high amp alternator to buy.

Why not 2 compressors, a single 8 or 10 gallon tank, and then add a deep cycle battery next to the compressors?

Then you can run some 2/0 from your main battery to your deep cycle for charging it, and mount it all, except the horns, in the trunk.

Kris

Come on guys, the OP has a Chevrolet Cobalt! You guys are talking like if he was driving a f250 longbed.

Well the standard alternator should be between 90 and 140 amps, depending on battery size. For a Cobalt, figure around 120 amps … and that should be plenty for 2 comps with a deep cycle cell.

If you build a shelf style mounting unit for it all with the deep cycle battery on the bottom, the 2 comps on top of the cell, and the 8 gallon tank next to it all will take up less space than 3 comps and two 5 gallon tanks.

As for the bells, those will take some time to fit … your best bet would be to find someone with a lift to get under it and do your measurements. I’d recommend the lift that uses the tires and not the frame so that you can make sure the suspension is compressed and won’t crush something you need.
