Need advice..

As some of you know, I bought and installed the Shocker classic 228vx (the “better” kit) on my HHR.

I was wondering if it would be possible to buy fittings that would allow me to attach an additional air hose (such as the one listed
http://www.hornblasters.com/products/details.php?i=30ft-coil-hose-with-quick-connect <—here), so I would be able to air up tires if I ever needed to. I’d hate to come out to a parking lot, see a flat tire, and not be able to use a perfectly good air source just because I didn’t have the attachments.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Sure. I don’t think you have any unused ports on that tank so you’ll have to use a tee fitting.

You’ll need a short nipple to connect the tee to the tank. I would orient the tee so your new quick disconnect is on the branch (middle) port of the tee. Make the run (straight through) ports connect to the tank and horn fitting.

Do you know what size port is on the tank? Most of the quick disconnect fittings are 1/4" NPT so you might need a reducer bushing.

I’m not too familiar with air systems, so I don’t know the size of the port. The instructions say it’s a 1/4th inch line that fits in that port.

Ok well the threads of the port are a separate deal from the airline diameter.
They are NPT threads and they can be a little confusing…they do not actually measure what they’re called.

The easiest way if you’re not sure is to take you’re existing compression fitting to the hardware store and thread it into a tee to make sure you have the right size. Then also buy a short nipple with the same threads. And if the tee is bigger than your new quick disconnect, you’ll need a reducer bushing.

You can get the Viair quick disconnect fittings with either male or female threads - whichever makes your life easier.

K, new fittings added. Pics can be found here:
