need help deciding

Currently i have a 150 psi compressor with a 3 gallon tank and a 130 psi pressure switch. i have a set of horns off of an old fire truck but am looking to retire them and go bigger. i plan to keep the set up just swap horns. was looking at the horn blaster kits but herd a few people saying they are not “real” train horns are there advantages/advantages to these vs “real” train horns. i want to know what everyone else thinks. also if not the horn blasters what a loud horn to go with?

Welcome, I can’t help you much with horns but everyone seems to like Leslies or Nathans. The shockers seem to be a nice way to start, they all say they’re loud but how close they sound to a real train horn, I don’t know.

Great deal! Great guy to deal with! Awesome E-bayer! You won’t be dissapointed.

thanks for the help a problem i do have with large train horns is that i am mounting them on an srt8 jeep and dont have much room.

These don’t take up too much room on the low mount manifold. You could always mount each bell individually. More work but it can be done. The K series bells are much shorter as well.

thanks for the help i just have one more question if you don’t mind do you know how the hornblaster horns are and how they compare to the Nathan airchime P3’s im not looking to drive around and scare people but at the same time not looking for an authentic train sound the truck is a show truck and i need something louder than the fire truck horns and more of a train sound

I’ve only heard bornblasters in videos and they sure sound loud. They sound similar to a locomotive horn to me but why not go with the real deal? BTW, those SRT8 cherokee’s are bad a$$! I can’t seem to find any vids comparing hornblasters horns to nathan’s or leslies but here is a great vid comparing genuine train horns. Peace!

i love the shockers i have on my truck…yea theyre not the “real” thing but theyre still loud as hell and make my ears ring if im in front of my truck

ive never had the “real” one but i think the biggest difference is the price! i belive the real ones are also bigger but that might depend on the model you get. i think they sound similiar but ive never heard them side by side…

I think the biggest difference is material, plastic vs aluminium. Hornblasters horns are more than loud enough!

well obvousily the material to…i think thats a big part of why theyre cheaper…ill be at the gas station about 2-3 miles down the road and my wife can hear me from the house…and we live out in the woods, not some open flat land.

i think im going to go with them big weight advantage and a forth the price

I think you get a discount at hornblasters as well for being a member of the forum. BTW I paid $390 for my P3. Not nine something I think they are asking.

figured id get these for now then maybe next summer invest in a Nathan airchime K5 and move the others to the work truck don’t have that kinda money rite now

I can try to make a video tomorrow of my shockers vs my K3. Shockers are plenty loud and I love mine on my Accord but they aren’t as loud as a K3 by any means. You can still hear the shockers a good ways off though.

Pros of Shockers: Loud enough lol, easy to mount anywhere, don’t use a ton of air, sound good, WAYYYY cheaper than a real train horn but ALMOST as loud lol

Pros of K3s: VERY loud, makes you feel more like a man maybe?..yeah that’s pretty much it lol
