Howdy everybody. I am stoked to find a board like this.
I am trying to install some Grover’s. They are 34" and 37" long and sound like a deep foghorn. Pretty sweet. The problem is, my current valve is 1/4in in and out. That already runs two small tweeter airhorns (loud, but no idea what they are).
All of the airhorns have 1/4 inlets in them. I would like to run 3/8 all the way to them, then drop down, to make sure I have the flow. Also might add another set in the right front wheel well, and I want to make sure the valve can run that.
I would really like to run everything off of the same floor mounted valve. The problem is I can’t find anything with 3/8" inlet and outlet. I looked at Grainger and other such places.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
John
They are being installed on a 45ft, 40k LB, motorcoach.
I have a couple of Grovers and let me tell you, if you run 1/2 inch line all the way to the horns and clamp the lines on with a hose clap, you’ll LOVE IT! I used a Hornblasters shocker valve and fittings on my Grovers 1042 and 1045 30 inch and 25 inch. BIG DIFFERENCE! Alot more Air Flow than 1/4 inch line. Its not about the Psi rather its about the air volume to the horns. Make sure you don’t go over 120 psi.
Thanks for the info, gents. I like the look of the hornblaster 1/2 valve. That is probably what I will use. Then swap out my current foot switch to a master electric switch that runs everything off of the 1/2 valve. Should work out well.
Thanks again. You all got me pointed in the right direction. If you pass me nice and politely, and don’t attempt to sneak up between me and the curb on a right turn, you probably won’t hear them. I like volume when it comes to horns.
