new from nj

whats up guys looking to purchase my 1st set of horns not sure what kit to go with im thinking the s4’s im looking to spend no more then 500 whats my best options ?

S4s are the way to go. Next step is to choose the tank size and compressor that fit your budget. 2-5 gallons is nice for a tank size. and as for compressor, it depends on if you want to run 200 psi or 150 psi to the horns

For 500 get the shocker kit, unless you want to save a hundred or two more and then you’ll be able to get a REAL train horn :).

I’m from NJ. Where ya from?

i want a decent blast time is it the bigger the tank longer blast time ? how long would a 1.5 or 2 gallon tank last ?

clark nj hbu

I’m up north in Morris County :).

If you need help with the install I could try to help ya.

thanks bro ill prolly need the help lol im thinking of going with this kid what you guys think ?

2 gallons is like 1-2 seconds of blast… I started with 1 gallon of air… Then went up to 4 gallons…

Honestly, I think you’ll get tired of 2 gallons really fast.

and the compressor whats the dif between the 150 psi and the 200 ? srry for all the noob questions lol

It’s basically how loud your horns will be. Shockers can go up to 200 psi, but if you want the BEST sounding horns, stay at 150 psi… Not to mention they won’t wear out as fast.

oo ok now for tank size im prolly going to go with the 5 gallon but i have a lincoln ls and i want trunk space still will this take up alot of room ?

Not really alot of space, but it is definitely worth the extra honk time.

Welcome to the forums to.

Welcome to the forum. Is your name Vinny?

If you get really serious about how often you want to blow those horns, check out the XD3000 air compressor on Hornblaster’s website. They’re not cheap but will blow the doors off of any other compressor.

How much honking room are you looking to achieve?
