I bought a K3 for a little more than I wanted to, but nothing too bad. The small bell has a chunk missing out of it.
Are bells weldable?
Option 1: (1) 10 gallon tank w/125PSI rating, 380c, 5/8 or 1/2 line
***Can one 380c compressor fill (1) 10 gallon tank to 125 PSI relatively easily? How long should I expect it to take from 90 to 125?
Option 2: (2) 10 gallon tanks, 125PSI rating, 380c, 5/8 or 1/2 line
***Can one 380c compressor fill (2) 10 gallon tanks to 125 PSI relatively easily? How long should I expect it to take from 90 to 125?
Option 3: (1) 8.5 gallon tank from HB, 380c, 5/8 or 1/2 line
***Can one 380c compressor fill (1) 8.5 gallon tank to 200 PSI relatively easily? How long should I expect it to take from 160 to 200?
Option 4: (1) 12 gallon tank from HB, 380c, 5/8 or 1/2 line
***Can one 380c compressor fill (1) 12 gallon tank to 200 PSI relatively easily? How long should I expect it to take from 160 to 200?
Warranty of the compressor doesn’t bother me. I am trying to buy the used 380c from a guy on here. Does another compressor make sense? (like a bigger one)
Does it make more sense to run set up 1, 2, 3, or 4?
First, yes bells are repairable.
I’m curious where you found a 10 gallon tank?
It should be under 2:25 per 5 gallons for 90 to 125psi - multiply as necessary.
They list 5 gallons from 165 to 200psi at 3:40 - 8.5 would be 6:14.
Would you run the horns at 200? If not you would need a regulator for the 8.5 gallon 200 psi setup.
For me it’s not a question of warranty, but how long does it take…
Crap you added an option while I was replying.
12 gallons from 165-200 would be 8:48…ouch
I have 2 from a few years back that i’ve kept. They are the “portable air tanks” that walmart sells.
Dang that’s a long time, I may just suck it up and buy two.
Yeah 200 for 1 -vs- 300 for 2…
2 is a better deal anyway.
I was planning on buying a used one. Is 2 enough, or should I look into something else entirely?
I can’t imagine the portable tanks having much in the way of ports - do they?
So you’re probably into the 8.5 or the 12 gallon.
Either way, you’re looking into at least 2 compressors. What pressure do you want?
The 8.5 gal and 12 gal on HB’s site cost the same that’s why I went with the 12gal
any portable air tank ive seen is only rated at 140 psi or so… Never seen one rated for 200
Running a T off of the tank, pretty good setup honestly. I am mounting it right next to my window (couple inches clearance) I have ear plugs hanging around my rear view mirror. I’m using a 7 gallon tank and garden hose. The smallest line is 1/2"
All in all, I have ~$20 worth of fittings, and $300 into the horn. I run 120 down to 90, and refill it with a home compressor. I don’t plan on going too far away from home when I scare.
Now, in a few months, I plan on the following:
York 210 or dual Viairs
1, or 2 12 gallon tanks (probably 2 12s if go with the York)
