Hello to all. I’ve been a visitor on here for a few months now. I’m currently looking at getting a set of horns for my 2005 f150. I’ve been looking at the Shocker and the Nathan K3.
I like the HB Shocker kits cause they are significantly less expensive. And the versatility of mounting the horns separately. I’ve never heard either setup personally. (Only on YouTube)
I don’t know if the extra money for the K3’s is worth it:confused:
Welcome, my personal opinion is splurge the extra money and go with the k3 if you got the money. I have heard them side by side and a real train horn is tops.
The extra money is definitely worth it. The k3’s can be mounted separately with special brackets.
Get the K3 kit … I’m heard at a mile and a half, and I love it.

Get the k3!!!
It’s unanimous haha. The K3 is in another league. Welcome.
Wow. That doesn’t sound good for the shockers. Are they that much difference?
basicaly the shockers are fun for about a block radius, K3’s gets you into the half mile range
Shockers get attention. K3 move slow cars out of the left lane. Shockers make people turn and look. K3 make people soil themselves
I dunno…in the right circumstances, Shockers can be heard for way more than a block.
I was driving home Friday before last, and about a mile away from my house, there were buzzards feeding on a deer that had gotten hit the night before, and I honked my shockers as I drove past. A couple of the buzzards moved a little, but not much. Then, my dad called me on my cell and asked if that was me. He was lying awake in his bed, it is a very dense, wooded area, and it was softly raining (and my shockers were pointing AWAY from the direction of the house).
I guess it depends on how much other noise is around.
The Shockers are not wimpy by any means.
The tone is a personal preference. Some people like a more authentic sound vs the deeper shockers.
Do you want ridiculous or absurd?
Welcome to the forum. If you can afford the K3’s now, get them, otherwise get the shockers and upgrade later.
Ever seen the movie “Spaceballs”?
K3’s are like going to plaid …

yeah, Ludicrous speed.
^^^^^^^^^^^This.
It comes down to what tone you like the best. There are a lot of real train horns to choose from… Nathan K3, P3, M3, K5, P5, M5, Leslies, others
Shockers sound epic on a Honda Civic. For a truck, you might need a real train horn !
