I have been lurking for a while, I just got a commuter train horn and was curious to see what was entailed to install it on my Ram. Looks like you have some very creative and smart people on this forum. I look forward to posting pics of the install.
Welcome to the forum. Yeah looking forward to seeing pics of this thing.
You’ll have a few decisions to make - like how much honk time you want (tank size), what pressure you want to run in your tank, manual valve or solenoid valve.
But Hornblasters can get you set up with an air package.
I’m leery about any Airbagit product. If you check their website, the compressors are cheap Chinese knock offs of Viair, Gast, ARB, Extreme Air, etc… They’ve had that reputation for all of their products.
It’s hard to say if any of the other small compressors have the same 5 gallon restriction because none of the website mention that in their warranty. They use terms like “This warranty does not cover abuse or operation in a manner inconsistent with the product’s design” or “improper use will void this warranty.”
Interesting I have read a few reviews of the DC5000 everything seemed to be positive. I guess for now I will have to just have to use the garage compressor for now. Thanks for all the info guys!
I appreciate the honesty, I don’t know much about on board air. I normally built Hot Rods and air bags are a fairly new option in that market as well. So I am hearing that with my 10 gallon tank I should go with something like dual 480c’s? I only need 120psi to run the horns.
