Hello out there. New guy here from the PNW, picked up a P3 horn and it looks like it is a new cast, but with single diaphragms. And, of course, I got a problem. I need a new diaphragm. Gaskets and seals would be good too. The stainless garter springs are good.
Any one know a source for rebuild kits for these, or am I SOL?
I could make a diaphragm out of some stainless shim stock, and maybe cut some rubber seals as well. But there’s no way to make the center seal.
Help??
OK, when I checked the thickness of my old diaphragm, it looks to be .010", or .009". Can I replace them with .012", I also found .018". Just an idea.
I would try to find something as close to what you have as possible…
OK, I just ran a test and…it takes just a bit more time to get them to sound off. You can hear them ramp up, and that’s at 150 psi. I’ll order some shim stock that’s closer to what I measured. Not sure if the temper is right, but it does work.
